Arkview Foundations

Introduction to the Program

We all love being part of a community, and increasingly, we're also involved in online communities. At Safina Society, we want to foster a group of people united by nothing other than the love of deen. Nothing is sweeter than gathering for the sake of Allah and learning how to draw near to Him. The Arkview Foundations Track is for beginners, teaching Arabic, prayer, and Quran from scratch in a lighter manner. There are courses available for all ages - kids, teens, and adults. Stay connected to the deen with loosely organized and relaxed sessions.

Summer 2020 Courses

Interactive Tajwid

Ustadh Ashir Adrian Kirk

The goal of this course to to get closer to our Lord by getting our Tajwīd game tight. This course will begin with covering the basics and fundamentals of the science of Tajwīd, then move to learning its proper recitation starting with the proper pronunciations of all of the letters of the Arabic alphabet, and finally cover the actual theory of Tajwīd science in conjunction with its application.

Arabic Grammar

Dr. Shadee Elmasry

If you gave only twenty minutes a week consistently for four years, you would be able to read classical Arabic with understanding. Four years are going to pass anyway, so you might as well pick up reading. The strategy with this course is to put out videos so short, you can watch one during a coffee break, or after dinner. (Teachable has a mobile app too.) We employ repetition, so if you don't get something, don't worry, just keep watching. I'll be posting a video every few days. There will be a grammar section as well as the guided reading sections using the book Stories of the Prophets.

Hadith for Youth

Ali Ben Saad

This course will review select hadith from the famous 40 Hadith of Imam al Nawawi to provide young aspiring students with the ability to understand the essential hadiths and beliefs of our faith. The 40 Hadith of Imam Al Nawawi is one of the most widely taught books on the Prophetic Tradition because of its selection of the most critical of hadiths for the reader to learn. Students will take away valuable life long lessons from the Prophet, Peace be Upon Him. They will learn about key figures in Islam and the hadith tradition while reading through a tradition that has been taught for centuries. All of this will be accomplished while the student is in the comfort and safety of their home.

Stories of the Prophets

Youssra Kandil

Allah swt says “We relate to you, the best of stories in what We have revealed to you of this Qur'an“ (12:3) Storytelling has been one of the most natural and effective methods of teaching since the beginning of time. Everyone loves a good story be they young or old. And what could be better stories than those of the Prophets mentioned in the Quran from which we can learn and take valuable lessons to live by. In this course we will be reliving stories from the beginning of creation, traveling through time as we connect each prophet to the one after, and developing an understanding of how each Prophet came to continue the message of the one before.

Quran, Story Time, & Fiqh for Kids

Afnan Alheyari, Ali Bhatti, and Hala Amer

This seven hour course aims to cover the ins and outs of this delicate balance.

This is how the screen looks, as the sections we go over are highlighted and specific words are marked.
